Irrigation

Efficient watering promotes healthy plants through deep root growth, discourages pests and diseases, and minimizes the need for chemicals and fertilizer.

Residential Irrigation Systems

A professionally-designed automatic sprinkler system protects your landscaping investment, improves the appearance of your yard, and increases the market value of your home. Here are some tips regarding landscape irrigation:

  • The greatest waste of water is due to over-watering. A well-designed sprinkler system regularly and consistently delivers the appropriate precipitation rate to your lawn, trees, shrubs, gardens & flowerbeds.
  • Schedule watering for the most efficient time of day – when most of us are sleeping. This reduces water loss from evaporation and wind.
  • Zones divide your yard so that grass, trees, shrubs, perennials, etc., are all watered at rates appropriate for their specific needs.
  • A rain sensor shuts the system off when it senses you reach your preset level of precipitation or detects precipitation, even when you are asleep or away from home.

Agricultural Irrigation Systems

When selecting an irrigation system, it’s important to balance the following factors: initial investment costs, operating costs, site factors, and management skills.

In general, the higher-investment, higher-water-application efficiency systems are used for growing large fields of high-value, water-sensitive crops, or where water supply may be limited or pumping lift is high. Lower-initial-investment surface systems are generally used in areas with a short growing season or where soil depth or texture limits production.

“The human soul resembles water; it descends from heaven, it rises to heaven, and has to descend to earth again, changing eternally back and forth.”
